Built in 1921, the Martindale Schoolhouse is an official Texas Historical Landmark. The feeling of being inside a 100 year-old school building will transport you back in time to experience what a rural school was like during the roaring 20's.
The Martindale Schoolhouse is centrally located between Austin and San Antonio and is perfect for weddings, special events, weekend getaways, and outdoor excursions. First, there’s the expansive five-room villa that was once the original school. Carefully curated with eclectic art from around the world, the schoolhouse sleeps 14 and is fully modernized with a large kitchen, multiple seating areas, a great lawn and a covered veranda with an outdoor fireplace.
Next, there's the Martindale Social Hall. Perfect for wedding receptions, dances, corporate outings, you name it... all hosted under the sky and stars within the walls of the original school gymnasium. To top it off, the crystal clear San Marcos River is a short walk away for swimming, fishing, kayaking, and joyous lollygagging. Martindale Schoolhouse...your hall pass from the ordinary.

WEDDINGS
We specialize in leisurely weekend weddings. Your wedding experience is much more enjoyable when you have quality time to spend with your family and friends without the stress of rushing to set up and break down. You'll have the whole place to yourself Friday-Sunday, with plenty of time to decorate, host a rehearsal dinner, have brunch in the courtyard or just hang out and relax.
You'll also have access to the Schoolhouse, extensive grounds and the Martindale Social Hall, a 4,000 square foot open-air gymnasium, complete with tables, chairs, bar, restrooms, and a stage for DJ's or live music. Accommodates up to 175 guests. For overnight stays, the Schoolhouse can accommodate up to 14 guests. LGBTQIA friendly! Contact us for booking.

With five bedrooms and four bathrooms, the villa sleeps 14 and has extensive grounds with a great lawn, private courtyard, covered veranda and plenty of space for your whole group to spread out.
